Galway and Home

After leaving the Cliffs of Moher we started north to Galway. We took the coastal route and it was beautiful.

We passed several thatched roof cottages and lots of quaint Irish villages.

Several castles ......

We checked into our hotel and then went to McDonagh's famous fish and chip shop. It was really crowded and very yummy!!!!!

Galway is a fun town. We enjoyed walking down the busy streets enjoying the street entertainers and the fun shops.

The next day we got up early and went back to Quay Street. We had breakfast at the corner bakery....and then enjoyed more shops!

This is the home of the claddagh ring. The claddagh stands for friendship, love and loyalty. Of course I had to buy another claddagh ring from Galway!

More fun shops.......

On our way out of town we went to the Galway crystal factory. Wow! Beautiful crystal!

We left Galway and went to the little town where "The Quite Man" starring John Wayne was filmed. This is a replica cottage of the one in the movie. We have seen the movie twice since we have been here. It's a pretty cute movie.

Inside the cottage with some of the original pieces used in the film.

Tandem bike the rode in the movie.....

We enjoyed a nice ride back to Belfast.

We had a memorable trip. It was nice to get away and enjoy this beautiful country. Now we can say we have seen "most" of it!!!
