Random Adventures

Happy Spring! The daffodils are everywhere and the tulips are coming! There are buds on the trees and I have even seen some blossoms on the trees! Northern Ireland is getting greener everyday.

We have been in several mission districts since we have been here. This is the chapel in Omagh. They were pretty excited when they expanded to two portables! Some day a beautiful chapel will sit on this hill. Omagh is about 1 1/2 hours from us.

This is the chapel in Dundalk. They rent a space in a building that use to be a horse calvary stable. It is actually really nice inside and Elder McDowell is the Branch president right now.
They are actually in the Dublin Stake, but their branch borders our ward. About 45 minutes away.

Here is the district and chapel in Antrim. It's about an hour away.

This is our building in Portadown. We have a beautiful lot. I think it's sad that there is a big green fence all around the grounds and they always have to be locked. If everyone forgets their key we all have to wait on the street!

This is the Hollywood chapel, which is the Stake center in Belfast. It's a nice building about 1 hour away.

This is the Bangor Chapel in the Belfast Stake. Bangor is north of Belfast and a very nice area. It's not too far from Crawfordsburn. Two wards meet here.

Monday the McDowell's came north to our neck of the woods. We took them out to meet Brother Donnelly who is a legend in our ward. He took us on a tour of his farm and once again told us his conversion story which is amazing. The spirit was strong as he testified of the truthfulness of the gospel.

We also took the McDowell's out to Lough Neagh so they could see the largest lough in Ireland. It was really windy!!! But we had a good time.

This is Lurgan Park. Everyone has told us Lurgan has one of the nicest parks in the UK! We decided to check it out since it's just down the road a wee bit.

It is a very nice park with a really nice golf course.....any takers?????

We had a good time taking pictures of the geese. They were not afraid of us at all and we got really close.

There was a little girl there who threw some bread out in the water and wow did the birds and geese scramble!!!!

This is the Lurgan castle. It was closed that day, since it was Easter Monday......so we will have to go back and take the tour. I hear it's pretty nice. Not quite as old as some of the other castles we have seen!

Elder Watt made cinnamon rolls one day. They were yummy!!!! We love the Elders and we are afraid Elder Watt may be leaving this week during "moves". We will miss him! But he is coming back after his mission to see us and has promised to come see us in America when we get home!

I have learned alot from him about England and the gospel! It's great to serve with such faithful young men and women.

The days go quickly and the work is going good. We are teaching alot and making more good friends each day. I was playing the organ in Sacrament meeting today and when I looked into the congregation I was excited to see a family we have been working with there!!! They are wonderful and it was so exciting to see them at church!!! It's moments like that , that make it all worthwhile!
