Goodbye....Ireland

On November 1st we said goodbye to Ireland and sailed on the ferry to Scotland. It was sad to leave but we didn't look back....

On to new adventures!

We made our way to Edinburgh where we met with President Griffiths at the mission home. He released us and then took us to the airport where we rented a car and headed south to England.

We stayed at a cute bed and breakfast in Preston.

The next day we made our way to Preswich, England where Birch's Holt ancestors were from. We found the church that they attended.

There was a nice man there that took us all around the church and showed us the history records. There were hundreds of Holts.....

The cemetery....

It was fun to drive through the town and see all the "Joseph Holt" signs. Most of them were on pubs!

It was a fun little village. We then headed south to London. We arrived at the London Temple about 5:00 and went through a session. After that, President and Sister Lowry, (the temple president and his wife) met us and took us out to dinner. We had a wonderful time catching up and visiting with them. They are such amazing people!

Their home is on the temple grounds. We stayed in the "General Authority" room!

The Temple grounds are beautiful.

We sure enjoyed the Lowry's hospitality and had such a nice visit with them.
