The new year is upon us and I am feeling alittle overwhelmed. (too say the least). We had a wonderful three weeks with our family all here for the holidays. I want to document Christmas with pictures, but that will have to come later. No time tonight!
Birch and I began our mini-mission at the mission office today. We will be at the Minneapolis mission office five days a week, for the next 6 months or until we get a full time mission call. Birch will do all the mission finances and I will do the office work that the office Elders have been doing, so they can spend more time out proselyting. It's like going to work full time for me, something I am certainly not use too. (when do I go shopping??) But I know the blessings will come and there is a great spirit there working with the missionaries. Change is good!

Wow! That's awesome! Good for you guys!
Seriously, thanks for your willingness! We have a mission open in our own Institute (or at least we did the last time I checked), just behind our chapel, and no one (from the 5 wards JUST in Tallahassee) has volunteered. I have no idea what it must be like giving up all of your time and freedom (like you said...shopping, hello?), but I do know that it is wonderful to have you and Birch as examples of doing the right and admirable thing. Thanks guys!
So cool! You will end up loving it and Im sure you will still be able to squeeze in some shopping time!
Thanks for the update. So glad you are easing into missionary work and being away from home so many hours in the week. How exciting!!! Retirement can be far from routine and boring, eh?
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Sounds like you're off to a good start!
It's a good thing Target is open til 10:00pm. That is great to work in the mission home, I love it when the missionaries come to visit me at the bookstore. They just have a great spirit about them.
